Why work with us?
We as a company are genuinely passionate about training the next generation of therapists
Most of our interns stay with us after they graduate
Please read on to learn more about the unique opportunities Counseling Professionals PLLC offers our interns and next steps.
Interns have opportunities to participate in group learning experiences, collaboration, and peer support throughout the internship experience. Group hours are designed to strengthen confidence, encourage professional development, and build clinical community.
Our internship program emphasizes supportive, growth-oriented supervision. Interns receive regular supervision and guidance from experienced clinicians committed to mentorship and ethical clinical development.
We also value accountability and quality of care by ensuring our supervisors receive supervision and ongoing professional support themselves.
Interns gain experience working in both in-person and telehealth settings. Support is provided to help interns feel comfortable navigating virtual sessions, office expectations, documentation, and client communication.
Mock sessions help interns build confidence before seeing clients independently. These sessions provide opportunities to practice counseling skills, receive feedback, and strengthen clinical presence.
We value diversity, inclusion, and culturally responsive care. Our program supports CACREP-related learning goals and encourages interns to develop multicultural awareness and competency in clinical practice.
Interns are provided guidance and support with the technology platforms used throughout the practice, including scheduling systems, documentation systems, telehealth platforms, and referral workflows.
We understand many interns balance school, work, and personal responsibilities. Flexible scheduling options may be available depending on supervisor availability and internship requirements.
Interns are supported not only by their direct supervisor, but also by a collaborative leadership and supervisory team invested in intern success and professional growth.
Interns have opportunities for peer support, consultation, and collaboration with other clinicians and interns within the practice to help foster confidence, connection, and professional growth.
When appropriate, interns may have opportunities to observe sessions, workflows, and clinical processes to gain additional exposure and learning experience.
The Intern Bridge Program is designed to help interns transition into the next stages of their career. Our hope is to support interns from graduate training into associate-level employment, full licensure, and future leadership opportunities.
Interns receive support with referrals, Psychology Today setup, and marketing visibility. Interns also maintain some autonomy in determining which referrals are the best fit for their interests and clinical goals.
Interns may gain experience with documentation, progress notes, scheduling processes, collaboration, and other administrative responsibilities that support ethical and effective clinical practice.
Our internship interview and onboarding process is designed to help ensure a strong fit for both the intern and the practice.
Typical process:
Initial interview
Supervisor interview
Leadership meeting/onboarding process
Additional onboarding support and training are provided throughout the transition into the practice.
We value collaboration with academic programs and supervisors to help support intern success, meet program requirements, and create a positive training experience.
Interns may have opportunities to participate in client-paid sessions and gain exposure to systems and workflows designed to support long-term professional development and practice growth.
Please note that internship availability can change quickly, and we continue to add new supervisors throughout the year. The application form will always contain the most up-to-date information regarding openings and placement opportunities.
To help streamline the placement process, please do not contact individual providers directly unless you have been connected with them by the Supervisory Committee.
