Personal Statement:

I think it is important to understand how my client’s values and personal background affect the choices they make in their daily lives, and how those choices support them or prevent them from reaching their goals. The techniques I use can include assessment, exploring emotions, self-esteem work, looking at a situation from all angles, identifying past trauma, and active listening. I want my clients to feel confident and supported during therapy, and I hope that my sessions will provide a safe space where they can share openly and work towards their goals.

My counseling style pulls from a variety of therapies that focus on the here and now, looking at behavior patterns, and identifying any past trauma. My career as a school psychologist provides me with extra training with behavioral therapies, working with young adults and children, and individuals with TBIs and ID.

The greatest joy of my life is watching my clients gain an understanding of themselves and their behavior patterns, and using that understanding to grow as a person and achieve their goals. I am honored to be considered as a collaborative partner in your personal growth, and I look forward to getting to know you, given the opportunity.
