Clients often tell me they feel stuck and can’t unhook from unhelpful thought patterns and compulsive behaviors. It is my mission to help my clients shift how they view their thinking which often leads to more desired behaviors. I love to take a holistic view with my clients by first looking at overall health, habits and patterns. While I use many therapeutic modalities, I rely mostly on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in order to help clients clarify their values, detach from useless thoughts and implement mindfulness skills. To treat OCD, I utilize Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).
I believe that the treatment of anxiety and OCD should be very interactive. Early on in our sessions, I will use Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) to help you challenge your anxious thought patterns and reduce compulsions. We will also dive into determining what is important to you with the help of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
In our first session together, I will learn as much as I can about you and what your hopes are for improving your mental health. We will establish what works best for you in terms of setting therapeutic goals and establish how often you would like to meet. I have extensive experience and training working with clients experiencing symptoms of OCD and anxiety.
